We had a perfect couple of days here and couldn’t recommend more highly. Surrounded by rolling countryside and staffed by friendly and helpful fellows. The rooms are huge. A special thanks to Andrea who served every meal with a smile. The spa facilities were great and were the cherry on the cake of a much-needed break from city life.

Stayed for 6 nights and the service was excellent. The food and drinks were reasonably priced. If you want to stay in a nice quiet hotel then you must try the Stratton House Hotel. Highly recommend the Sunday lunch.

This is a review for the spa as we didn’t stay at the hotel. The spa was a hidden gem, very new, clean, and exceptional quality. We were greeted by the lovely friendly receptionist who really makes the experience special ensuring you have all you need. The lockers have your towels and robes waiting inside for you, jacuzzi pool, steam room and sauna are spotless, the treatments and staff were amazing, and the relaxation room had lovely cold water full of fresh fruits which was topped up regularly. The price was really reasonable, Prosecco was served by a very friendly waiter, and you can order from QR code. I really can’t wait to go back!!

Visted on a half day spa and treatment experience. Great location, staff were helpful and my massage was lovely. Steam and sauna rooms with a Jacuzzi in the garden room. We had a great time and with a £20 allowance towards food, we had a lovely lunch too.

What a wonderful Christmas We have spent in such a beautiful hotel. The food was superb, the atmosphere so lovely to relax and enjoy the surroundings. All staff members were friendly and helpful, but particularly Adrian, he never stopped and nothing was too much trouble, he went above and beyond. Thank you to you all and Merry Christmas x

Charming building and grounds full of character and conveniently located too for anyone staying in Cirencester. This is an old property with all the quirks and character consistent with a property of this type. The building needs a little investment as do the rooms. Technically there is WiFi but it's barely able to cope with an email but maybe that's not a priority if you're staying in this part of the world which is a nice estate from modern life. A few basic things could be improved in terms of the rooms (for example mould is forming on the ceiling of the shower which could just be removed easily with anti mold spray and basic cleaning ) but for the price the hotel represents good value. Staff are great and very helpful. Easy parking on site also.

I booked afternoon tea for my grandparents, having found this hotel online when searching the local area. Service was really slow, given that it was not very busy/they were nowhere near at full capacity, but the food was lovely and there was plenty of it. Just wish I didn’t have to get up twice to find a waiter for service (and when I did get up, I struggled to find one or they were talking amongst themselves).

Excellent deal on Secret escapes. The country house hotel had an excellent. location being just a 25 minute walk from Cirencester. Great food and excellent staff. Would not hesitate to recommend and we will certainly be back. 'Wine down Wednesday ' was a great promotion.

Dodgy Hotel! I paid extra to book a deluxe room with a view, but the room didn’t have any view at all. I also had to climb three and a half flights of stairs to reach the room. The hotel’s location is on a deserted road, and you need to walk 25 minutes to get to Cirencester. While Cirencester is a very nice town, I suggest booking a hotel within the town itself. The breakfast is not a buffet—just a small portion of English breakfast with only one egg! It’s not worth more than £4. The hotel restaurant serves rubbish food at very expensive prices. Avoid this dodgy business!

Nice enough, I am not sure it was worth the £120+ per night. The receptionist was a little rude and unhelpful, not really bothering to look up to greet me when I was trying to check-in, not being very forthcoming with an early check-in, very firmly stating rooms were only available from 1500, no options for another room or trying to ask room service to get it done early. Breakfast was good, dinner needs work and becareful of the 50% off wine, the price indicated is already 50% off , not the original price... Oops... Not clearly explained by the otherwise lovely waitress . The bathroom smelt of drains which effected the rest of the bedroom and the coffee machine was a little problematic. The two twin beds together were slightly off and thus the double bed was not comfortable, and infact had a gap down the middle. Overall the place was disappointing and my recommendation comes slightly witheld. We were hoping to put a Lot more business its way through our company, but likely we will keep looking for something better.

Really wouldn’t recommend. Staff did nothing to make this a nice stay. Paid for the best room, with garden view. I attached a photo of the view. Told reception, but was told not all the rooms have a garden view?! But he added notes and it would be followed up in the morning. I go to checkout in the morning, but no mention of anything. Also no, “how was your stay”, just “yep you’ve already paid, goodbye”. Also, don’t expect to use the spa inclusive of your stay, despite it being advertised as included on Expedia. Shower also kept falling down, feels like the whole place is crumbling really. Went to have drinks in the bar. Absolutely no atmosphere, no one behind the bar, and smelled really bad. Left to go into the town instead. For £300/night, my expectations were set. Everything under delivered.

Excellent hotel with good service and facilities. We just stopped for the night on the way to Bibury (the fayre tale town) which is just 25 minutes away. We got the cheapest double room which was confortable and functional but the wiew was to an internal service corridor. I did not mind as we just checked out in the morning. The got good price booking from agoda. Like 20% less than others. The hotel has 4 EV slow charging points with type 2 connector. You need your own lead to use the app geting the qr code I reception to activate and pay.

I would particularly like to single out Emma, on reception whose personality shines through her professionalism. Nothing was too much trouble, and she responded swiftly and hopefully to the two or three requests we had for extra milk and any other questions et cetera; we decided to pay extra for the breakfast, and I’m very glad we did. I had the Cotswold breakfast and praised the chef because it was especially delicious. I have rarely raved so much about a mushroom! The grounds of the hotel are beautiful, parts of the building itself are clearly some kind of old Heritage building. My only suggestion would be that the insulation between the rooms – certainly rooms five and seven, we were in room five – be improved. Next time I would ask for a room with the view of the garden, as we looked out onto a rather dark and functional courtyard, which had some sort of extractor fan which chugged its way intermittently through the night ( in actual fact, if the fan had been continuous, it would’ve been easier to deal with!) I did point these out to reception and checking out, and the man in reception said he would look into the fan issue. Certainly for the money – we booked through Expedia.com – it was a very pleasant day and all the staff, as other reviews have said were extremely helpful, friendly and easygoing. It was my misunderstanding that one had to pay an extra £15 per person to use the spa, which also had to be booked, it was one of the reasons I booked thinking that it was a nice little touch, but of course as Emma pointed out, they would have to push their rates up if it were included in the price of the room and the stay. So five stars for the people stars for the, building/amenities

Lovely long weekend staying at Stratton's. Did not partake of the spa as thought prices quite high compared to where I live. Staff friendly. Will definitely return

This is a good hotel to stay in. It is reasonably priced and I organised a two night stay and meeting here for a work event. The thing that made this hotel was the fantastic staff, particularly Adrian who seems to be a real asset. The whole hotel is fairly old and the layout is strange but still it's full of Cotswold character.

We visited Stratton house for a spa package with afternoon tea. Unfortunately we left quite disappointed. The jacuzzi had some sort of issue in the morning so was only tepid. The area next to it was nice to relax in but the QR code to order drinks didn't work. The relaxation room wasn't very warm. Moving on to the afternoon tea, we were sat in a room on our own (no atmosphere. Even the music turned off at one point so we asked for them to turn it back on). The sandwiches were dry at the edges and the overall quality was lacking. We felt like a bit of an inconvenience. There were workmen walking around and even some drilling! It wasn't somewhere we felt relaxed enough to stay for long so we left early.

Very disappointed with the room we were given. A dark room with a high window so no outlook. The bedroom furniture needed replacing, really scruffy the carpet was dirty and the back of the bathroom door filthy. Very poor for the money we paid. Bed was comfy and breakfast nice.

Lovely hotel with great members of staff who were friendly, courteous, helpful and charming. Look out for Jack and Adie serving breakfasts and in the bar (probably umpteen other jobs as well) they are amazing and such fun! Some members of our group experienced the spa and they all gave good feedback. Well done Stratton House, we'll be back!

The hotel is beautiful, and in a great location. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I can only give 2 stars as the walls are thinner than paper, we could hear absolutely everything from neighbouring rooms and did not get a good nights sleep. The bar is also extremely expensive. Also a shame that hotel visitors are not granted access to the pool, despite the rooms being relatively dear.
